Beautifeye x Barbie Collection BTS

To celebrate the release of our new Beautifeye x Barbie Line, we want to share with you the process of how we make our unique Collections from start to finish.

Before we approach how these collections are made I would like to mention why I believe these collabs are important beyond the obvious. It may seem like just a way to sell more products but, in reality, they are worth so much more to our business. When I started Beautifeye, I had a vision of what I believed a brand should be. That a brand should try to accommodate every part of a consumer's life from decor to dress. Now, with the help of the Beautifeye team, we’ve created a variety of products to do just that, most of which come from our collections. 

The collections also helped us hone in our artistic talents and became the inspiration behind many of our new styles. In short, they’re the perfect way to keep evolving our business while supporting our customers every need.

Now that I’ve said my piece let's get into how we create a collection:

Brainstorming, branding and beautifying clothing

The first step in creating a collection is sitting down, researching and strategizing.  It took us around 4 to 5 months to get the Beautifeye Barbie Collection to public release. With the Barbie Collection, it was our in-house creative director, Lauren, who got the ball rolling in terms of overall concept. We both had this vision for something bright to celebrate summer and she suggested focusing around the vibrant pink you’ll see in many of the items.  Developing these visions into a collection is always exciting. It allows us here at Beautifeye to flex our artistic talents while also educating ourselves on what's trendy and relevant. After all, our collections have to appeal to our audience if we want any kind of traction. If you’re having trouble keeping up with trends on your own, no worries! Adding a dog item or two to any collection is always a good call.

The vision…

When creating your individual items though it's good to keep in mind the type of collection you’re releasing. For example, we here at beautifeye made sure to keep this collection small since it’s only seasonal. Once we had an idea on the items we wanted for this collection, we shared those design ideas with an apparel company so they could begin production.  

After the designing and creating comes the fun part…bringing the collection to life through photoshoots and branded content. Finding the perfect location for shoots is vital to give your products a leg up on the competition. That’s why we’ll start looking as soon as we have a solid grasp on what our collections' thematic tones will be. Lauren was also the brains behind this collection's perfect spot. She stumbled across a website called Peerspace that leased out aesthetic spaces for shooting any kind of content. After scrolling for a while we found a house filled to the brim with pink; our own Barbie dream house.

Managing struggles, time constraints:

While our collections are very fun to make, the creative process isn't always kind. Sometimes, even when you have your whole vision together, things end up changing outside of your control. This can happen at any step in your journey from scheduling photoshoots to stocking products. It’s important to remember when these issues arise that patience is your best friend. Trying to force a piece before its ready could lead to even more mistakes in the product itself. If you are concerned that a delay may lessen your sales then give yourself some leeway when planning out your projects timeline. Even a day to two extra on deadlines can make a world of difference.

Creating a collection is a large responsibility for any business but I promise it’s worth the work. With each piece that leaves our studio. I’m reminded of how much love and care went into its creation. It’s as if I’m sending my clients home with a little piece of our brand to keep them company. A symbol of Beautifeye never ending dedication to their clients. It’s extremely fulfilling and I hope this letter helps others understand the numerous benefits a collection can have for any business.
